O presente trabalho busca se debruçar sobre o conto Maria, que se encontra veiculado na coletânea de Olhos d’Água (2017), obra de autoria da escritora Conceição Evaristo. O objetivo é o de apreciar a narrativa sob os véus da poética do silêncio, em suas instâncias positivas e negativas, mais especificamente alicerçando-a sob as reflexões de Federico Michele Scciaca (1968), Eni Orlandi (2007), Luzia B. Tofalini (2013, 2018, 2020) entre outros estudiosos do silêncio, buscando sondar as múltiplas produções de sentidos que se erguem do referido conto e se abrigam nas cinesias abismais do silêncio, parte inerente de todo e qualquer fazer artístico literário.

This work seeks to focus on the short story Maria, which is published in the collection of Olhos d’Água (2017), a work by the writer Conceição Evaristo. The objective is to appreciate the narrative under the veils of the poetics of silence, in its positive and negative instances, more specifically grounding it under the reflections of Federico Michele Scciaca (1968), Eni Orlandi (2007), Luzia B. Tofalini (2013, 2018, 2020) among other scholars of silence, seeking to probe the multiple production of meanings that arise from the aforementioned tale and take shelter in the abysmal kinesias of silence, an inherent part of any literary artistic work.
