Neste artigo examinaremos como a ideia de justiça distributiva vigente nas sociedades mediterrâneas de antigo regime, possa nos auxiliar nas redes de compadres formadas por alguns oficiais da Guarda Nacional que foram moradores na Vila de Santa Maria do Baependi durante o século XIX. Para esta pesquisa, selecionamos três homens de distintos prestígios sociais, tais escolhas, se justificam por estes agentes terem sido no grupo da elite de Baependi, os que mais compareceram nas pias batismais da região. Portanto, através dos elos parentais destes indivíduos com os demais segmentos da sociedade Baependiense, procuraremos analisar, de que forma o princípio de justiça distributiva poderia ser percebido em suas relações de compadrio com as demais famílias da localidade. Para estes exames serão utilizados como fontes, os registros paroquiais de batismo, inventários post-mortem e testamentos

In this article we will examine how the idea of distributive justice prevailing
in Mediterranean societies of old regime can help us in the networks of compadres
formed by some National Guard officers who were residents in the Vila de Santa Maria
do Baependi during the 19th century. For this research, we selected three men of
different social prestige, such choices being justified by the fact that these agents were
in the elite group of Baependi, who were most present in the baptismal fonts of the
region. Therefore, through the parental links of these individuals with the other
segments of Baependian society, we will try to analyze, in what way the principle of
distributive justice could be perceived in their relations of compadrio with the other
families of the locality. For these examinations will be used as sources, the parochial
records of baptism, post-mortem inventories and wills.
