NO MUNDO DAS ÁGUAS: CONTRIBUIÇÃO DE UM ESPAÇO NÃO-FORMAL PARA O ENSINO DA BIOLOGIA MARINHA

O espaço não-formal caracteriza-se por ser uma maneira diferenciada de trabalhar com a educação,
paralelamente à escola, sendo uma de suas particularidades a busca pelo prazer da descoberta e do desafio na
construção do conhecimento. O “No Mundo das Águas” se constitui como espaço não-formal de educação em
ciências, no Município de Belo Horizonte/MG, e tem um papel fundamental na divulgação do conhecimento sobre
Biologia Marinha. Esse trabalho apresenta um estudo sobre a educação não-formal e seu papel no processo
educativo realizado com alunos do 7º ano do ensino fundamental de uma escola particular do município de Belo
Horizonte/MG. O objetivo deste trabalho foi analisar a importância do espaço “No Mundo das Águas” para o
ensino de Biologia Marinha, investigando suas contribuições para a educação formal. Foi aplicado um questionário
estruturado contendo 10 perguntas de múltipla escolha, elaboradas a partir de observações prévias feitas no
espaço “No Mundo das Águas”, envolvendo o tema biologia marinha, enfocando os cnidários, moluscos,
equinodermos e peixes, que permitiu avaliar o nível de informação dos alunos. Como ambiente não formal, o
espaço “No Mundo das Águas” permitiu aos alunos uma aprendizagem através da prática, da vivência, do
observar o que eles iriam receber pronto no ambiente formal, a escola. Permitiu que conhecimentos fossem
construídos por meio da associação de metodologias apropriadas à ambientes adequados. A mudança de
informações foi significativamente positiva, concluindo que o espaço não-formal “No Mundo das Águas” realmente
contribuiu para o ensino de Biologia Marinha.

The non-formal space is characterized by being a different way of working with education, in addition to
school, being one of its special search for the pleasure of discovery and challenge in the construction of
knowledge. The "In the World of Water" becomes a space of non-formal science education in the city of Belo
Horizonte/MG, and has a key role in spreading knowledge about marine biology. This paper presents a study on
non-formal education and its role in the educational process conducted with students from the 7th year of
elementary education at a private school in the city of Belo Horizonte/MG. The aim of this study was to analyze the
importance of space "In the World of Water" for the teaching of Marine Biology, investigating their contributions to
education. We administered a structured questionnaire containing 10 multiple choice questions, drawn from
previous observations made in space "In the World of Water", involving the theme of marine biology, focusing on
the cnidarians, molluscs, echinoderms and fish, which allowed to evaluate the level of information for pupils. How
non-formal environment, space "In the World of Water" enabled students to learn through practice, the experience
of watching what they would get ready in the formal setting, the school. Allowed knowledge to be constructed
through the combination of methodologies appropriate to the appropriate environments. The change of information
was significantly positive, concluding that the space non-formal "In the World of Water" really contributed to the
teaching of marine biology.
