O artigo analisa a importância do compositor popular Noel Rosa (1910-1937) e sua obra como representantes das transformações sociais e culturais que ocorriam no Brasil no decorrer da década de 1930. Procura-se identificar o Poeta da Vila como um “homem-fronteira” que integrou as diferentes realidades do morro e da cidade através de suas composições, caracterizando-o, assim, como um mediador de diferentes culturas.
The article analyses the importance of the popular composer Noel Rosa (1910-1937) and sweats work like representatives of the social and cultural transformations who were taking place in Brazil in the course of the decade of 1930. The Poet of the Town tries to identify like a “front-man“ who integrated the different reality of the hill and of the city through his compositions, characterizing it, so, like a mediator of different cultures.
