Objetiva-se explicitar como as normas e rotinas da enfermagem no ambiente da unidade de terapia
intensiva permeiam o cotidiano de enfermeiros atuantes neste setor. Trata-se de uma pesquisa qualitativa
cujo referencial teórico é a sociologia do cotidiano, realizada através de entrevista semiestruturada com oito
enfermeiros atuantes nas unidades de terapia intensiva de um hospital filantrópico da Zona da Mata de Minas
Gerais. O contexto das normas e das rotinas empregadas na unidade de terapia intensiva constitui-se em uma
ferramenta de cuidar que confere ao serviço dos enfermeiros segurança e respaldo técnico-científico, capaz de se
estender à profissão como um todo. Elas são adotadas como um norte a seguir, sendo capazes de uniformizar e
agregar valores ao fazer da enfermagem.
It aims to explain how the rules and routines of nursing in the environment of the intensive care unit
permeate the everyday life of nurses working in this sector. This is a qualitative research whose theoretical
sociology of everyday life is conducted through semi-structured interviews with eight nurses working in the
intensive care unit of a hospital’s philanthropic Zona da Mata of Minas Gerais, Brazil. The context rules and
routines used in the intensive care unit is in a tool that provides the service with care nurses’ safety and technicalscientific
support can be extended to the profession as a whole. They are adopted as a north then being able to
standardize and aggregate values while doing nursing.
