O presente artigo analisa algumas canções do final do século XIX e início do século XX na cidade de São Paulo. Uma das temáticas mais frequentes destas canções é o amor. E é nestas canções de amor que podemos encontrar temas como desilusões e saudades; visões da mulher; casamento; promessas, desejos e juras perpassadas por questões do cotidiano e do contexto histórico como urbanização, migração e imigração.
This paper analyzes some songs from the late nineteenth and early twentieth century in São Paulo. One of the most common themes of these songs is love. In these love songs we can find themes like heartache and longing, visions of the woman; marriage, promises, desires and vows and with issues of daily life and historical context as urbanization, migration and immigration.
