The present text aims to produce a reflection about the importance of the Center for Training and Updating of Basic Education Professionals (CEFAPRO), as an instrument of mediation in the process of permanent formation in the context of the public school. Reflecting on school-centered teacher training in the context of the Training Center necessarily needs to be articulated to a political project of formation consubstantiated with a conception of the world, human being, teacher, education and school in the dimension of social quality. As a theoretical presupposition, the text is based on the educational thinking of Paulo Freire. For analysis on ongoing formation, reflection is based on the pedagogical dialogue of Freirian authors. As a result of the reflection, it is intended that the text can contribute to the production of criticism, problematization and affirmation on the importance of CEFAPRO as a center for ongoing training in politics and pedagogy of public education workers.
