A religião é um conceito em constante construção e servir-se-á aqui do caso de kimpasi na época de Dona Beatriz Ñsîmba Vita (1684-1706) com objectivo de perceber como ela é entendida pelos Kôngo. Para melhor compreensão, referenciar-se-á o Kimpasi que, no século XVIII, era tido como espaço religioso do sincretismo. Entre os Kôngo, a religião tem cinco significações convergentes. Com isso, o presente artigo reflecte sobre os aportes da profetisa ética chamada Dona Beatriz Ñsîmba Vita e muito conhecida por “Kimpa Vita”.
The concept of Religion seems to be in constant construction and, in this texto, we will use case of kimpasi at time of Dona Beatriz Ñsîmba Vita (1684-1706) in order to understand how it is understood by the Kôngo Peolple. For better understanding, we shall refer to the kimpasi that, in the 18th century, was considered a religious space of syncretism. Among the Kôngo People, the religion has five converging meanings. Thus, this article reflects on the contributions of the ethical prophetess called Dona Beatriz Ñsîmba Vita and well-known as “Kimpa Vita”.
