Resumos Cadastrados

Resumo Português:

his paper presents the experience of Geology and Paleontology study group (GEOMÉDIO) with twenty students from the first year of high school in the Reference School Dom Helder Câmara, municipality of Lagoa Grande, Pernambuco State. This group was created to minimize the distance of the contents related to Geology and Paleontology inserted in Geography, since in most cases these themes are not prioritized, either because of reduced hours or the absence of these disciplines during the formation of the Geography teacher. The students had theoretical and practical classes, which included field activities, production of scientific abstracts on the topics covered and the experience in the group and elaboration of models and other didactic materials. Thus, the experience of GEOMÉDIO proves the importance of teaching-learning activities beyond the classroom, awakening in students a greater interest in Geosciences. This action became necessary and multiplying as new classes will be inserted in GEOMÉDIO group with the same objective.
