Procuraremos aqui estudar a obra de Sciascia (principalmente Il Consiglio d’Egitto, mas
fazendo também referência a outras obras suas) e sua relação com a problemática da história.
Nesse contexto estudaremos a atualidade do romance histórico, a dimensão polÃtica da relação
literatura/história, a urgência de a literatura narrar a história e procurar os valores humanos em um
mundo em que eles parecem ter perecido. Para tanto, retomaremos algumas das discussões
sobre a relação entre literatura e história, o que faremos recorrendo aos termos teóricos do debate
atual.
We intend to study the work of Sciascia (mainly Il Consigliod'Egitto, but also making
reference to other works of his) and its relation to the problem of history. In this context we will
study the present time of the historical novel, the political dimension of the relationship literature /
history, the urgency of literature to narrate history and look for human values in a world where they
seem to have perished. Therefore, we will resume some of the discussions on the relationship
between literature and history using theoretical terms of the current debate.
