O artigo analisa o debate travado pelo Historiador Reinhart Koselleck e o filósofo Hans-Georg Gadamer a respeito do conhecimento histórico. Investigamos as origens comuns do pensamento dos dois autores, localizadas no solo aberto pela filosofia de Hans Gorg Gadamer e nas questões comuns do contexto sócio-intelectual em que ambos produziram suas obras. Num segundo momento, analisamos as suas diferentes visões e interpretações sobre o conhecimento histórico e o vigoroso debate travado entre eles.
The article explores the theoretical propositions for historical knowledge built by two authors:
the philosopher Hans-Georg Gadamer and historian Reinhart Koselleck. Starting from a critical
review of modern thought and sharing the influence of Martin Heidegger’s philosophy, the two
authors came to divergent views on the foundations of historical knowledge, both with great
interest to the current directions in the discipline.
