A relativização do conceito de norma trouxe consigo o questionamento do erro lingüÃstico. O que constitui erro para a gramática tradicional passa a ser um fenômeno que tem explicação cientÃfica. Propuseram-se, assim, terminologias alternativas à tradicional dicotomia certo e errado. Porém, também a esses termos subjaz a existência de um padrão lingüÃstico. Por esse motivo, a atitude da escola frente ao erro lingüÃstico continua (e continuará) sendo a de correção.
The relativization of the concept of linguistic norm has brought into question the concept of linguistic error, which has been offered scientific explanations. The traditional dichotomy correct versus incorrect has been disputed by alternative terminologies. These new terms, however, still presuppose the existence of linguistic standards. That is why schools continue (and will continue) to treat errors by means of correction.
