No cenário brasileiro, a polícia militar ocupa um lugar historicamente marcado por reincidentes práticas de violências e abuso de poder, pondo em descrédito a função que lhe é atribuída socialmente, ou seja, manter a ordem, a paz e garantir a segurança. Neste trabalho, propomos discutir sobre o que se mantém, apaga e ressignifica em alguns dizeres que circulam quando as ações policiais ocorrem e/ou resultam em crimes. À luz da teoria pecheuxtiana, uma vez que enquanto prática de compreensão histórica dos processos semânticos possibilita a compreensão de como as tensões sociais se processam no campo da linguagem, selecionamos uma ocorrência de violência e abuso de poder em jornais virtuais, buscando nos comentários dos leitores pistas que ajudassem a compreender o funcionamento discursivo circulante em relação às práticas empreendidas na forma de agir, de ser e do fazer policial.

In the Brazilian scenario, the military police occupies a place historically marked by recurrent practices of violence and abuse of power, putting the function attributed to it socially in disrepute, that is, maintaining order, peace and ensuring security. In this work, we propose to discuss what is maintained, erased and reframed in some words that circulate when police actions occur and / or result in crimes. In the light of the Pecheuxtian theory, since as a practice of historical understanding of semantic processes it enables the understanding of how social tensions are processed in the field of language, we select an occurrence of violence and abuse of power in virtual newspapers, seeking in the comments of readers clues that would help to understand the circulating discursive functioning in relation to the practices undertaken in the way of acting, being and doing police.
