A biblioteca escolar e o seu papel para a construção de um aluno crítico, capaz de exercer e exigir seus direitos. O objetivo deste artigo é abordar a importância da biblioteca escolar para o incentivo à alfabetização e ao letramento infantil e propor ações para a sua eficácia. Realiza pesquisa bibliográfica orientada pelo diálogo com Tfouni (2006), Soares (2012) e Durban Roca (2012), entre outros, que discorrem sobre o tema e os conceitos essenciais para a análise. Constata a pertinência da biblioteca escolar, do bibliotecário e dos recursos desse ambiente para a escolarização e o letramento infantil, bem como os instrumentos que podem ser desenvolvidos para que a biblioteca escolar execute com qualificação sua missão na instituição educacional.
The school library and its role in building a critical student capable of exercising and demanding his rights. The objective of this article is to address the importance of the school library in encouraging literacy and child literacy and to propose actions for its effectiveness. It conducts bibliographic research oriented by dialogue with Tfouni (2006), Soares (2012) and Durban Roca (2012), among others, who discuss the theme and the essential concepts for analysis. It notes the relevance of the school library, the librarian and the resources of this environment for schooling and child literacy, as well as the tools that can be developed for the school library to perform its mission in the educational institution with qualification.
