O objetivo desta reflexão é trazer à tona a discussão do papel das instituições sociais e de como hoje elas enfrentam questões referentes ao envelhecimento humano. As instituições sociais são responsáveis pela manutenção e reprodução da sociedade, portanto a discussão sobre seus papéis implica em analisar a forma de como a sociedade está organizada. A disfuncionalidade das instituições reflete a crise pela qual a sociedade passa e as dificuldades que enfrenta para responder às necessidades coletivas.
Resumo Inglês:
The objective of this refl ction is to bring up the discussion about the role of social institutions
and how they are currently facing issues referring to human aging. Social institutions are responsible for the maintenance of society, therefore discussing its roles means to analyze the way society is organized and what is going on in these institutions. Dysfunctionality in some of these institutions refl ects the crisis society is undergoing, and the difficulties it faces to respond to collective needs.
