O objetivo deste artigo é refletir sobre das contrafações do conceito da dignidade humana que assola a sociedade do mundo contemporâneo capitalista. Destaca-se nesta reflexão a forma intransigente com que o projeto ético-político do Serviço Social atua na defesa desse conceito. Trata-se de uma reflexão teórica que busca apresentar a interface e similitudes da Declaração de Direitos Humanos com os princípios do Código de Ética da profissão. A metodologia adotada compreende uma revisão entre autores que discutem este o tema. Na conclusão são apresentadas as contribuições que o projeto ético-político e o Código de Ética trazem para este debate.

The purpose of this article is to reflect on the counterfactuals of the concept of human dignity that plagues the society of the contemporary capitalist world. In this reflection, the intransigent way in which the social-political project of the Social Service works to defend this concept stands out. It is a theoretical reflection that also seeks to present the interface and similarities of the Declaration of Human Rights with the principles of the Code of Ethics of the profession. The adopted methodology comprises a review among authors that discuss this theme. In the conclusion are presented the contributions that the ethical-political project and the Code of Ethics bring to this debate
