O que são Sociobiologia Humana e Psicologia Evolucionista?

A Sociobiologia teve seu nascimento na década de 1970 a partir de uma mudança paradigmática que ocorrera na Biologia evolutiva com o abandono da seleção de grupos como padrão explicativo e adoção da perspectiva gênica como foco da seleção natural. Com isso pretendiam analisar o comportamento social de todos os animais sob um mesmo arcabouço teórico, de formigas a seres humanos. Na década de 1980, nasceu uma disciplina filha da sociobiologia, a Psicologia Evolucionista, cujo foco é explicar a evolução da mente humana. Ambas tentaram refundar as ciências humanas em novas bases (sócio)biológicas. Pretende-se aqui apresentar o campo da Sociobiologia e algumas de suas controvérsias.

Sociobiology arose in the 1970s as a result of a paradigmatic change occurred in evolutionary biology with the abandonment of group selection as an explanatory standard and the adoption of the genetic perspective as the focus of natural selection. The intention of sociobiology was to analyze the social behavior of all animals under the same theoretical framework, from ants to humans. Deriving from sociobiology in the 1980s, Evolutionary Psychology focused on the explanation of the evolution of human mind. Both tried to give new (socio) biological foundations for humanities and social sciences. It is intended here to present the field of Sociobiology and some of its controversies.
