Apesar do sentimento de natureza estar presente na humanidade desde seus primórdios, foi com a formação da sociedade industrial e burguesa e com a consequente transformação do ambiente que o olhar dos românticos se voltou para o entorno, no desejo do encontro com aquilo considerado natural, divino e espiritual. Esta busca pela natureza se traduziu nas paisagens românticas, perpassadas pelas noções do sublime, belo e pitoresco. A estetização da natureza se deu através destas paisagens e influenciou grandemente as maneiras com que percebemos, entendemos e nos relacionamos com o ambiente até os dias atuais. Refletir sobre a trajetória das conexões entre artes visuais, literatura e ecologia interessa a este artigo, proporcionando a possibilidade de pensar em outras relações com a natureza, tecer outras considerações, inventar ainda outras possibilidades de criar e de habitar um mundo em constante devir.
Although the feeling of nature is present in humanity since its beginnings, it was with the consolidation of the bourgeoisie industrial society and the consequent transformation of the environment that the romanticist view has turned itself to its surroundings, in search of a relationship with nature and also seeking for a spiritual and mystical encounter. This search for the nature revealed itself in the romantic landscapes, grounded in the concepts of sublime and picturesque. The aestheticization of nature through the landscape has influenced the ways we perceive, understand and relate ourselves with the environment until the present days. The objective of this article is to reflect about the trajectory of the relations between visual arts and ecology, leading to the possibility to create other relations with nature and other ways to inhabit a world in constant changing.
