Considerando o contexto histórico e as repercussões em torno da instalação censurada
“Peinture/Scupture”, trabalho in situ, realizada por Daniel Buren em 1971, no Museu
Guggenheim, em Nova Iorque, procuramos discutir como, nesse momento de sua
trajetória, o artista compreendeu e se relacionou com o espaço expositivo especializado
das artes plásticas tal como materializado nos sistemas dos Museus e Galerias.

Considering the historical context and the repercussions around the censored
installation “Peinture / Scupture”, work in situ ", presented by Daniel Buren in 1971 , at
the Guggenheim Museum in New York , this paper discusses how, in this moment of
his career, the artist was related to the specialized exhibition space of fine arts as
materialized in the systems of Museums and Galleries.
