The article approaches the perception of the Archdiocese of Porto Alegre regarding the Brazilian society in the 1930's and 1940's. A prophylactic and harmonious solution was found, true to a Thomistic tradition and to the triumphant and authoritarian Brazilian regime of the 1930's.
