As Novas Tecnologias de Informação e Comunicação (NTIC) contribuem, há algum tempo, para a circulação de ideias inovadoras e interação em tempo real com pessoas, além de pesquisas sobre assuntos jamais imaginados e vistos, sobretudo com as mais novas atualizações e descobertas científicas do mundo moderno. Em se tratando de educação, essas novas tecnologias fazem-se presentes em várias instituições de ensino, ajudando na aprendizagem por parte de muitos alunos. Esta pesquisa se propôs a investigar se as NTIC incidem na formação dos profissionais do curso de Letras com habilitação em Inglês da Universidade Estadual Vale do Acaraú – UVA, em Sobral, Ceará, Brasil. Constitui-se, pois, em uma pesquisa bibliográfica e estudo de caso com aplicação de questionário e entrevista, com análise qualitativa e quantitativa dos resultados. Estes resultados apontam para uma construção de infraestrutura voltada para as NTIC, onde os alunos tenham acesso a computadores ligados à internet, e além da pesquisa, que usem as máquinas em aulas presenciais como ferramenta para seu aprendizado.
The NICT have contributed for some time to the circulation of innovative ideas and real-time interaction with people, in addition to researches specially on the newest updates and scientific findings in the modern world. When it comes to education, these new technologies are always present in several educational institutions helping them in the instruction of their students. This research aimed to investigate the NTIC use in the training course of Linguistics and Arts (with major in English) in the State University Vale of Acaraú (UVA) in Sobral, Ceará, Brazil. It is, therefore, a bibliographic research and a case study using questionnaires and interviews with both qualitative and quantitative analysis of the results. These results point to an existing infrastructure geared to the NICT where students may have access to computers connected to the internet, aiming research and the use in class as important tool for learning.
