É recorrente o debate sobre a Matemática na Educação Básica, que gira em torno da melhor estratégia para ensinar esse conhecimento. Uns defendem que essa disciplina seja ensinada por meio da memorização de fórmulas e algoritmos ou levando em conta sua principal essência - de ser um conhecimento estritamente abstrato. Por outro lado, o Movimento de Educação Matemática prioriza outro aspecto, o de que ela seja aplicável à vida das pessoas e à Ciência, como instrumento de solução e desenvolvimento de possíveis situações reais, a partir das quais passaríamos às generalizações matemáticas – aspecto defendido neste artigo, cujo objetivo foi o de refletir sobre o uso de recursos didáticos no ensino de matemática, mais precisamente, o uso pedagógico da imagem fotográfica, de jogos matemáticos e de novas tecnologias. A pesquisa foi desenvolvida na Escola Municipal de Ensino Fundamental Professor Abel Barbosa da Silva, localizada em Areia – PB, envolveu alunos participantes do Programa Mais Educação e apresentou uma experiência metodológica em que foram utilizados os elementos citados para o ensino de números decimais, juntamente com valores de alimentos que fazem parte do cotidiano dos alunos. Para isso, recorremos a autores como Lorenzato (2006), Passos (2006), Carlos (2006), entre outros. Como resultado, conseguimos uma ótima participação dos alunos no projeto aplicado e uma melhora significativa na aprendizagem do conteúdo matemático envolvido.

It is recurrent the debate about Mathematics in Basic Education, that orbs around the best teaching strategy of this knowledge. Some defend that this discipline is taught through memorizing of formulas and algorithms or taking into consideration its main essence - of being a strictly abstract knowledge. On the other hand, the Mathematical Education Movement prioritizes another aspect, that it be applicable to the lives of people and to science, as an instrument of solving and developing possible real situations, parting from the ones we would pass to the mathematical generalizations – aspect that is defended in this article, whose objective was to reflect on the usage of didactic resources in the teaching of mathematics, more precisely, the pedagogical usage of photographic image, mathematical games and new technologies. The research has been developed in the Municipal School of Basic Education Professor Abel Barbosa da Silva), located in Areia - PB, involved students that participate in the More Education Program, and presented a methodological experience (in which the elements cited for the teaching of Decimal Numbers were used along with prices of foods that are part of the students’ routine. For this, we turn to authors like Lorenzato (2006), Passos (2006), Carlos (2006), among others. As result, we have accomplished a great participation of the students in the applied project and a significant improvement in the learning of the involved mathematics subject.
