This work deals with the record of occurrence of Leporinus lacustris Campos, 1945 in the State of Rio Grande do Sul. The specimens were collected in Rio ibicuí Mirim (1982-1983) and Santa Maria (1984-1985) and showed some differences. refers to morphometric and meristic data when compared with the descriptions made by other authors.
