Este artigo busca identificar e compreender, as representações sobre o Movimento dos Trabalhadores Rurais Sem Terra – MST no oeste de Santa Catarina, através do jornal Diário da Manhã nos anos de 1985 a 1989. Por meio da seleção e análise das notícias que citaram o MST, o presente texto destaca elementos de uma produção de imagens e sentidos presentes na escrita jornalística, de modo que, os eventos relacionados ao MST ultrapassam a linearidade e narrativa dos fatos diários passando a ser também um tema dos editoriais marcados por interesses, opiniões e sobre tudo representações.
This article seeks to identify and understand the representations of the Movement of Landless Rural Workers–MST in western Santa Catarina, through the newspaper Daily Morning in the years 1985-1989. Through selection and analysis of the news that cited the MST, this paper highlights elements of a production of images and meanings present in journalistic writing, so that the events related to MST exceed the linearity and narrative of daily events becoming also a topic of interest marked by editorials, opinions about everything and representations.
