O presente artigo tem por finalidade analisar como a vida de Antônio Dó, um pequeno sitiante da cidade de São Francisco, localizada no Norte de Minas no início do século XX, ficou registrada na memória coletiva do povo de São Francisco. Pretende-se, também, refletir como a oralidade e a literatura contribuíram para a preservação desta história, além de questionar se a população sanfranciscana o tem como mito.
The present article has for purpose to analyze as the life of Antonio Dó, a small besieger of the city of San Francisco, located in the North of Mines in the beginning of century XX, was registered in the collective memory of the people of San Francisco. It is also intended to reflect as the orality and literature had contributed for the preservation of this history, besides questioning if the sanfranciscana population has it as myth.
