OFICINAS DE ENSINO DA MATEMÁTICA EM COMUNIDADES CARENTES – RELATO DE EXPERIÊNCIA

As escolas públicas e projetos sociais desenvolvem um papel fundamental dentro das comunidades carentes, desde a preparação das crianças e adolescentes para a vida profissional até a educação delas para a vida social. Este projeto de extensão da Universidade Federal do Rio Grande se desenvolveu juntamente com o Movimento Colméia. Esse Movimento se caracteriza como uma sociedade de caráter social, sem fins lucrativos que tem como objetivo concorrer para o resgate da cidadania e melhoria da qualidade de vida destas famílias, baseando-se no eixo fundamental que é a educação. Na comunidade, são desenvolvidas oficinas de várias especificidades, onde as famílias envolvidas apreendem artesanato em geral e seus filhos participam de diferentes oficinas de reforço escolar. Os jovens e crianças que frequentaram as oficinas pertencem às famílias integrantes do Colméia. Até o início do Movimento, a maioria abandonava os estudos no quarto ou quinto ano do ensino fundamental. Atualmente a realidade mudou como um indicador positivo, no entanto, é necessário registrar que estes alunos encontram muita dificuldade em matemática, tanto no ensino fundamental quanto no ensino médio. Essas oficinas fizeram uma integração de graduandos do Curso de Matemática Licenciatura da FURG e o Movimento Colméia, revelando o alto grau de comprometimento e responsabilidade social da universidade, oportunizando situações para tais comunidades de melhorarem como pessoas, como grupo e como cidadãos.

Public schools and social projects serve an important role within communities in need, since the preparation of children for working life to their education to social life. This extension project of the Federal University of Rio Grande has developed together with the Beehive Movement. This movement is characterized as a society of social, nonprofit organization that aims to contribute to the recovery of citizenship and improved quality of life of these families, based on the fundamental axis of which is education. In the community, are developed several specific workshops where families involved seize craft in general and their children participate in different workshops tutoring. Young people and children who attended the workshops belonging to the family members of the Beehive. Until the beginning of the movement, most left school during the fourth or fifth year of elementary school. Now reality has changed as a positive indicator, however, it is necessary to note that these students find great difficulty in mathematics, both in school and in school. These workshops have an integration of the undergraduate degree course in Mathematics and the Movement FURG Beehive, revealing the high degree of commitment and social responsibility of the university, providing the opportunity for such situations to improve communities as people, as a group and as citizens.
