O objetivo do presente
trabalho foi investigar a vida dos
escravos da Real Fazenda de Santa
Cruz e o impacto que a polÃtica administrativa
do Estado teve sobre
ela. A partir de dois inventários
produzidos em 1791 e 1818, foram
pesquisadas as transformações sofridas
pela população escrava em
função das mudanças na vida polÃtica
da colônia. O principal foco do
trabalho foi o entendimento do tipo
de adaptações que as relações sociais
tiveram que sofrer a partir das novas
demandas do Estado.
The aim of this paper was
the investigation of the Real Farm of
Santa Cruz slave’s lifestyle and the
impact of the State’s administrative
policy on it. The research was
based on the examination of two
inventories produced in 1791 and
1818. I examined the transformation
that occurred inside the slave
population due to changes in the
political life on the colony. The focus
was the kind of adaptation on the
social relationship related to new
demands of the State.
