A partir da análise de periódicos locais, este artigo pretende abordar a presença de migrantes espanhóis na cidade de Belém do Pará, no final do século XIX e início do XX, enfocando as suas experiências nessa cidade que vivia, no período citado, o auge da economia da borracha. Experiências, vivências e tensões faziam parte do mundo desses migrantes que estabeleciam redes de solidariedade e procuravam fortalecer as suas identidades adotando práticas culturais muito próprias do mundo Ibérico, como as touradas.
From the analysis of local newspapers, this article aims to raise the presence of Spanish migrants in the Belém city, State of Pará, in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, focusing on their experiences in this city who was in at the height of rubber economy. Experiences and tensions were part of the world of these migrants who established networks of solidarity and sought strength in their identities adopting cultural practices very own of the Iberian world like bullfighting.
