No Brasil, algumas estratégias de controle social passaram a ser utilizadas sobretudo mediante
instalação da República. Por meio do pensamento higienista, a investida do saber médico no
corpo individual e social veio (re)dimensionar diferentes concepções de espacialidade e
temporalidade. Na relação com este aspecto, este texto tem como objeto de análise algumas
estratégias de disciplina e higienização dos corpos que foram utilizadas pelos reformadores
educacionais durante o processo de implantação dos grupos escolares no Estado de Minas
Gerais. Nesse sentido, tem como principal argumento que tal processo se deu mediante
(re)produção de diferentes discursos e práticas de espaços e tempos escolares.

In Brazil, some strategies of social control were used especially since the ancient Republic. Through
the hygienist thoughts, the medical knowledge in the individual and social body produced other
different spatial and temporal conceptions. Regarding that aspect, this article discusses about
some strategies of discipline and hygiene of the bodies that were used by the educational reformers
with the implementation process of the graduate schools in the State of Minas Gerais. Moreover,
its principal argument is about the existence of (re)production of different discourses and practices
of the space and time in the school.
