Em 1843, em Portugal, Almeida Garrett começou a publicação do Jornal das Bellas-Artes, cujo projeto incluía, além da divulgação, pela reprodução, de pinturas guardadas ou produzidas na Academia de Belas Artes de Lisboa, a criação de poemas ou narrativas ficcionais inspirados por essas obras. A partir da leitura desse periódico, investigamos como um grupo de literatos portugueses da primeira metade do século XIX relacionava-se com a arte e a possibilidade de criação estético-literária a partir da recepção de artes plásticas naquele período.
In 1843, in Portugal, Almeida Garrett began publishing the Jornal das Bellas-Artes, whose project included, in addition to the publication of reproductions of paintings stored or produced at the Academy of Fine Arts of Lisbon, the creation of fictional narratives or poems inspired by these works. This essay aims to investigate, from the reading of this periodic, how a group of Portuguese writers of the first half of the nineteenth century was related to arts and the possibility of aesthetic-literary creation from the reception of arts at that time.
