O presente artigo tem como objetivo analisar a musicalidade e o drama que compunham o melodrama em sua concepção primeira. Para tanto, estudaremos as obras que originaram o gênero em questão: Dafne (de Jacopo Peri e Ottavio Rinuccini), Pygmalion (Horace Coignet e Jean-Jacques Rousseau) e Coelina, ou l’enfant du Mystère (René-Charles Guilbert de Pixérécourt).
This article aims at analizing the music and drama that made up the melodrama in his first conception. To this end, we will study the works that originated the genre in question: Dafne (by Jacopo Peri and Ottavio Rinuccini), Pygmalion (Horace Coignet and Jean-Jacques Rousseau) and Coelina, ou l’enfant du Mystère (René-Charles Guilbert de Pixérécourt).
