The author studies the paleontology of the municipalities of Santa Maria and São Pedro do Sul, Rio Grande do Sul State, Brazil, in the following chapters: history, fossils, location, geology and stratigraphy of fossil deposits, living environment of the Triassic saurians of the region, their disappearance and the meaning of the mortal remains.
