O artigo apresenta a trajetória de Alice Tibiriçá. Uma mulher da elite paulista que – à frente da Sociedade de Assistência e Prevenção à Lepra da cidade de São Paulo – irá estender as mãos aos lázaros. Torna-se depois feminista e comunista, atuando em diversos campos de luta contra as desigualdades de gênero e de classe. Na análise de seu devir filantrópico, de suas itinerâncias na vida doméstica e no cenário político, buscam-se os significados da filantropia nos embates por direitos sociais desse seu tempo
The article presents the trajectory of Alice Tibiriçá. A woman from São Paulo’s elite who - at the head of the Leprosy Assistance and Prevention Society in the city of São Paulo - will extend her hands to the lazarians. She later became a feminist and communist, working in different fields of struggle against gender and class inequalities. In the analysis of his philanthropic development, his itinerancy in domestic life and in the political scene, the meanings of philanthropy in the struggles for social rights of his time are sought.
