O fisioterapeuta é um profissional que apresentam um amplo mercado de trabalho, desde a àrea clínica, vigilância sanitária, desenvolvimento e execução de equipamentos fisioterapêuticos e ainda no campo de pesquisa e da docência. Portanto, o presente estudo objetivou fazer uma breve caracterização do perfil dos fisioterapeutas que atuam como docentes. Trata-se de estudo observacional, descritivo e de corte transversal com abordagem quantitativa, cuja população estudada foram 23 fisioterapeutas docentes de uma instituição privada de ensino superior em Montes Claros – MG. Os dados foram coletados através de um questionário semiestruturado. Os resultados demonstram que 56,5% dos docentes são do sexo feminino e 43,5% do sexo masculino. Dos docentes 13% são doutores, 52,2% são mestres, 34,8% são especialistas Latu Sensu, 30,4% dos docentes atuam somente com a docência e 69,6% exercem outras ativdades além da docência. Observou-se, ainda, que 87,0% dos docentes estão satisfeitos com a Fisioterapia e 13,0% estão pouco satisfeito,. Com isso, conclui-se que os docentes estão satisfeito com sua profissão e buscam, em sua maioria, investir mais em capacitações.
The physiotherapist is a professional who has a broad labor market, in the clinical area, sanitary surveillance, development and execution of physiotherapeutic equipment also in the field of research and teaching. Therefore, the present study aimed to make a brief characterization of the profile of physiotherapists who act as teachers. It is an observational, descriptive and cross-sectional study with a quantitative approach, where the population studied were 23 physiotherapists teaching a private institution of higher education in Montes Claros - MG. Data were collected through a semi-structured questionnaire. The results show that 56.5% of the teachers are female and 43.5% are male. Of the teachers, 13% are doctors, 52.2% are masters, 34.8% are Latu Sensu specialists, 30.4% of teachers work only with teaching and 69.6% perform other in addition besides teaching. It was also observed that 87.0% of the teachers are satisfied with Physical Therapy and 13.0% of them are not satisfied. With this, it was concluded that the professors are satisfied with their profession and seek in the majority to invest more in trainings.
