PERFIL DOS HOMENS COM CÂNCER DE PRÓSTATA NA CIDADE DE JEQUITAÍ – MG NO PERIODO DE 2010 A 2011

Este estudo teve como objetivo verificar o perfil dos homens portadores de câncer de próstata registrados segundo a Secretaria Municipal de Saúde da cidade de Jequitaí – MG, no período 2010 a 2011. Realizou-se um estudo descritivo do tipo transversal ou de levantamento através de um inquérito domiciliar, onde os sujeitos da pesquisa foram selecionados e identificados através dos registros de cadastro junto a Secretaria Municipal de Saúde de Jequitaí – MG, para posteriormente serem visitados e entrevistados em seus domicílios, respondendo a uma entrevista estruturada. Os participantes deste estudo foram homens estão com a doença há um ano e meio que possui idade entre 60 e 70 anos, casados, da cor parda. O fator de risco identificado permite descrever que 55% são fumantes 73% faziam uso de bebidas alcoólicas, onde o principal sintoma constatado para procurar ajuda pela primeira vez foi devido a dor ao urinar e a forma de tratamento mais recomendada para o grupo foi a radioterapia. Recomenda-se a necessidade de um trabalho de conscientização da população da cidade de Jequitaí – MG sobre a importância do exame preventivo de câncer de próstata.

This study aimed to verify the profile of men with prostate cancer registered according to the Municipal Health Department of the city of Jequitaí - MG, in the period 2010 to 2011. A descriptive cross-sectional or survey study was carried out through a Household survey, where the subjects of the research were selected and identified through the registration records with the Municipal Health Department of Jequitaí - MG, to subsequently be visited and interviewed in their homes, responding to a structured interview. The participants in this study were men with the disease for a year and a half who are aged between 60 and 70 years, married, of the brown color. The identified risk factor shows that 55% are smokers 73% used alcoholic beverages, where the main symptom found to seek help for the first time was due to pain when urinating and the most recommended form of treatment for the group was radiotherapy. It is recommended the need of a work of awareness of the population of the city of Jequitaí / MG on the importance of the preventive examination of prostate cancer.
