Este estudo tem como objetivo descrever o perfil epidemiológico de indivíduos com lesão medular, participantes de uma equipe de reabilitação multiprofissional desenvolvida por um Programa de Extensão da Universidade Federal do Amazonas, durante o período de 2014 a 2016, buscando caracterizar e classificar a amostra quanto ao sexo, idade, grau de instrução escolar, zona da cidade na qual reside, etiologia da lesão e segmento medular lesionado. A pesquisa se caracteriza como documental, os dados foram analisados a partir da ficha cadastral de 50 participantes, os dados foram analisados por meio do software Microsoft Excel e organizados em planilha, gráficos e tabelas, para o tratamento dos dados foi empregada a estatística descritiva. Os resultados apontaram que a prevalência de indivíduos é do sexo masculino, com idade entre 22 e 69 anos. Considerando que os indivíduos são moradores da cidade de Manaus, a maior prevalência foi de residentes da zona leste, a etiologia predominante se constituiu por lesão de arma de fogo, a escolaridade prevalente foi o ensino médio, e o nível da lesão foi a torácica. Por meio dos resultados apresentados, acredita-se que é possível desenvolver ações de prevenção a Lesão Medular, no intuito de sensibilizar a atitudes antiviolentas, e também definir políticas públicas para a reabilitação motora e funcional dessas pessoas visando uma melhor qualidade de vida, e a reinserção das mesmas no mercado de trabalho.

This study aims to describe the epidemiological profile of individuals with spinal cord injury, participants of a multiprofessional rehabilitation team developed by an Extension Program of the Universidade Federal do Amazonas, during the period from 2014 to 2016, seeking to characterize and classify the sample regarding gender, age, school education level, area of the city in which it resides, etiology of the injury and injured spinal cord segment. The research is characterized as documentary, the data were analyzed from the cadastral form of 50 participants, the data were analyzed through Microsoft Excel software and organized in spreadsheets, graphs and tables, descriptive statistics were used for data processing. The results showed that the prevalence of individuals is male, aged between 22 and 69 years. Considering that the individuals are residents of the city of Manaus, the highest prevalence was of residents of the east zone, the predominant etiology was constituted by firearm injury, the prevalent schooling was high school, and the level of the injury was thoracic. Considering these findings, it is believed that it is possible to develop actions to prevent spinal cord injury, in order to sensitize antiviolent attitudes, and also define public policies for the motor and functional rehabilitation of these people aiming at a better quality of life, and their reintegration into the labor market.
