A subordinação da mulher é um fenômeno universal, milenar, e é a primeira forma de opressão da humanidade (Ana COSTA; Cecília SARDENBERG, 2008). Trabalhos que abordam a relação entre mulher e música, ou música e gênero, ainda precisam emergir mais, embora perceba-se uma crescente no campo nos últimos anos. Este artigo apresenta a presença das mulheres (como criadoras, performers, musas, mestras) na Mazurca Pé Quente do Alto do Moura, apontando para a importância dos contextos em que a música está inserida, assim como a relevância de trabalhos que falam sobre mulher no âmbito musical. Foram realizadas entrevistas, observações e conversas informais com as/os integrantes da mazurca. A maior parte dos dados foi coletada para o “Inventário do Ofício dos Artesãos e Artesãs do Barro do Alto do Moura – Caruaru-PE”.
The subordination of women is a universal, ancient phenomenon and is the first form of oppression of humanity (Ana COSTA; Cecília SARDENBERG, 2008). Studies that address the relationship between women and music, or music and gender, still need to emerge more, although there has been a growing trend in the field in re-cent years. This paper aims to present the presence of women (as creators, performers, muses, mestras) in Mazurca Pé Quente do Alto do Moura, pointing to the importance of the contexts in which music is inserted, as well as of works that talk about women in the musical field. Interviews, observations and informal conversations were carried out with the members of the mazurka. Most of the data was collected for the “Inventário do Ofício dos Artesãos e Artesãs do Barro do Alto do Moura – Caruaru-PE”
