Esse artigo aborda a expansão da malha urbana e ocupação dos espaços em
Pirenópolis-Goiás. A inauguração de BrasÃlia em 1960 acelerou a urbanização
regional e o crescimento populacional e gerou uma forte demanda por turismo,
entendido como ato de viajar para entretenimento, lazer e contemplação das
paisagens. Esse fenômeno movimentou a economia local e aqueceu o mercado
imobiliário deslocando os moradores do centro histórico para áreas periféricas. A
nova realidade criou dificuldades para a preservação dos atrativos turÃsticos.
This work approaches to the urban net expansion and the occupation of the spaces
in Pirenópolis-Goiás. The inauguration of BrasÃlia in 1960 accelerated the regional
urbanization and the population explosion that created a strong demand for tourism
and leisure. It is understood as the act of traveling for entertainment and also the act
of admiring the views. This dynamic moved the local economy and heated up the real
estate market dislocating the residents from the historical center to the outskirts. As a
consequence, it was found many difficulties in the use of the soil to preserve the
touristy attractions.
