With the objective of selecting Chlorophyta algae for culture in the laboratory, a survey was carried out on plankton in the Santa Maria Federal University. At present, the relationship between the genera belonging to phytoplankton (37) and zooplankton (23) identified in the analysis of five samples collected in the months of April, June and August of 1994 is presented
