Plínio Marcos renovou a cena teatral brasileiro e atuou em diversas áreas culturais, avaliando e criticando de forma singular as mazelas sociais brasileiras na década de 60 e 70. O presente artigo objetiva analisar as peculiaridades da formação política, estética, ideológica e intelectual do dramaturgo Plínio Marcos e, ainda, analisar sucintamente a peça teatral Navalha na Carne (1967), considerando o contexto histórico-cultural e sociopolítico da obra e do autor, em busca de uma maior compreensão da singular expressão intelectual de Plínio Marcos, escritor engagé em termos sartrianos e “exilado”, “fora do lugar” na perspectiva de Edward Said.

Plínio Marcos renewed the brazilian theater scene and worked in various cultural areas, evaluating and criticizing uniquely Brazilian social ills in the 60 and 70. This article aims to analyze the peculiarities of political education, aesthetic, ideological and intellectual playwright Plínio Marcos and also briefly analyze the play Navalha na Carne (1967), considering the historical context of cultural and socio-political work and the author, seeking a greater understanding of the unique intellectual expression Plínio Marcos, writer engagé in Sartre and "exile", "out of place" in the context of Edward Said.
