Este estudo traça um panorama sobre a evolução do planejamento e os investimentos ocorridos em infraestrutura no Brasil envolvendo os setores de transportes, energia elétrica, telecomunicações e saneamento básico, no período Pós-Segunda Guerra Mundial à primeira década do século XXI. Constata-se que basicamente o conjunto de serviços ofertados passou por três momentos: o primeiro com forte intervenção estatal, focando o planejamento com índices de investimentos consideráveis; o segundo, com acelerada queda nos investimentos e crise econômica; o terceiro e último, ainda em consideração, com reestruturação e retorno da participação da iniciativa privada com leve recuperação nos investimentos e foco nos Planos Trienais

This study provides an overview on the evolution of planning and investments made in infrastructure in Brazil involving the sectors of transport, energy, telecommunications and sanitation in the post-war period to the first decade of this century. It appears that basically the range of services offered has gone through three stages: the first with strong state intervention focusing on planning with considerable levels of investment; the second, with accelerated decline in investment and economic crisis; the third and last, still under consideration, restructuring and return of private sector participation with mild recovery in investments and focus on the Triennial Plans.
