A Corte Imperial, escrita em Portugal entre os séculos XIV e XV, não é uma obra original. Na
verdade, trata-se de uma compilação de vários textos religiosos anteriores. Mas, mesmo assim, é uma
fonte histórica importante, pois o discurso presente na obra traz reflexos da polÃtica portuguesa no perÃodo
e o programa ideológico da Igreja, que busca a primazia do poder espiritual sobre o temporal e sua
Cruzada na conversão do infiel.
