O artigo objetiva analisar a Política Nacional dos Resíduos Sólidos frente à situação dos catadores no Brasil, como uma questão de cidadania aos envolvidos. Nesse intuito, são examinadas as políticas governamentais existentes sobre o tema, assim como a necessidade da participação da comunidade brasileira, de maneira ativa e responsável, no âmbito dessas políticas. Neste trabalho, aponta-se para a necessidade da existência de políticas voltadas à destinação correta dos resíduos sólidos, assim como a inclusão social e a emancipação econômica dos catadores de materiais recicláveis e reutilizáveis no Brasil.
The paper aims to analyze the National Solid Residues Policy and the situation of the collectors in Brazil, as a matter of citizenship of the parties. In this view, we examine the public policies about this subject, as the necessity of participation of the Brazilian community in these policies in an active and responsible way. This article points to the necessity of the existence of policies to the correct destination of solid residues as the social inclusion and economic independence of the (recyclable and reusable) collectors in Brazil.
