O artigo apresenta uma reflexão acerca das políticas culturais para a capoeira, considerando adesões e tensões existentes na relação entre o Estado e os capoeiristas. A análise busca uma interpretação do processo de registro da capoeira como patrimônio cultural imaterial do Brasil e o processo de salvaguarda, associando ao panorama mais geral de ampliação das políticas culturais, do alargamento da concepção de patrimônio cultural e os usos da ideia de cidadania cultural para refletir sobre possibilidades de reconhecimento e participação nas políticas de memória.
The article presents a reflection on the cultural policies for capoeira, considering adhesions and tensions existing in the relationship between the State and capoeiristas. The analysis seeks an interpretation of the process of registering capoeira as an intangible cultural heritage in Brazil and the safeguarding process, associating it to the more general panorama of expanding cultural policies, expanding the concept of cultural heritage and the uses of the idea of cultural citizenship for reflect on possibilities of recognition and participation in memory policies.
