No início da carreira profissional, intérpretes de Libras- Português que desejam atuar na esfera jurídica deparam-se com uma série de dúvidas e desafios no que diz respeito às decisões que competem a esse profissional. Além disso, raros são os materiais (documentos, notas técnicas, guia de orientações, artigos e outros) que oferecem subsídios eficazes para atuação dos intérpretes de línguas de sinais no meio jurídico brasileiro. Por esse motivo, discutem-se, neste trabalho, algumas contribuições de autores internacionais, como Roberson, Russell e Shaw (2011), Mathers (2007), Russell (2002); e de autores nacionais, como Santos (2016), Santos e Sutton-Spence (2018) e Rodrigues e Santos (2018). A partir de várias experiências na interpretação de Libras-Português realizadas em audiências judiciais e/ou contextos que envolviam o âmbito policial entre o período de 2004 e 2018, reuniram-se, neste texto, alguns obstáculos recorrentes que emergiram dos registros sistematizados em cadernos de anotações das profissionais. Na análise preliminar, constataram-se os seguintes tópicos: as comunidades surdas no Judiciário, diferentes contextos de atuação e terminologia e seus impactos. Esses resultados podem constituir- se como ponto de partida para a profissionalização de intérpretes de Libras-Português, além de poderem incentivar futuras pesquisas sobre os temas pouco explorados nesse campo.

At the beginning of their professional career, Brazilian Sign Language-Portuguese interpreters who wish to work in the legal sphere are faced with a series of doubts and challenges regarding the decisions that concern this professional. In addition, instruments (documents, technical notes, guidelines, papers and others) that offer effective subsidies for sign language interpreters in the Brazilian legal environment are rare. For this reason, some contributions from international authors are discussed in this paper, such as: Roberson, Russell and Shaw (2011), Mathers (2007), Russell (2002), and national authors such as Santos (2016), Santos and Sutton-Spence (2018) and Rodrigues and Santos (2018). From various experiences in the interpretation of Brazilian Sign Language-Portuguese held in judicial hearings and/or contexts involving the police scope in the period from 2004 to 2018, some recurrent obstacles that emerged from the systematized records in notebooks of professionals were gathered in this text. In the preliminary analysis, the following topics were identified: deaf communities in the Judiciary, different contexts of action and terminology and their impacts. These results can be used as a starting point for the professionalization of interpreters of Brazilian Sign Language-Portuguese, as well as for encouraging future research on issues that are not well explored in this field.Keywords: interpreters; Brazilian Sign Language-Portuguese; legal sphere.
