Resumo Português:

Evidence-based practices (EBPs) have been gaining protagonism in the context of mental health research by approaching therapists’ clinical decision-making. Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) involves different procedures and practices, as well as it shows great efficacy and effectiveness in the treatment of many psychopathologies. The goal of the current study was to conduct a scoping review, based on the PRISMA-ScR protocol, to evaluate the theoretical basis, main approaches, implementation and dissemination challenges, and critics focused on EBP’s impact on CBT’s clinical practice. The article research was done in six databases. Twenty-one publications were selected from which twelve consisted of empirical studies and nine were characterized as narrative literature reviews. The main themes discussed by the analyzed studies referred to the beliefs, knowledge, and attitudes of CBT therapists in the application of EBP in their clinical practice. Moreover, psychotherapists’ training and criticism related to CBT were also relevant topics to the selected research. It is estimated that the present scoping review has made it possible to map the barriers and potentials of implementing EBP in the clinical practice of CBT.
