Este artigo apresenta algumas reflexões advindas da pesquisa de doutorado Amadores da
Arte, que, entre os anos de 2004 e 2008, investigou as práticas dos cursos livres de pintura
da cidade de São Paulo e interpretou concepções e funções de arte que presidem distintas
práticas artÃsticas vigentes e não institucionalizadas. O texto está estruturado nos seguintes
itens: Introdução; 1. Caracterização geral das práticas artÃsticas sustentadas pelos cursos livres
de pintura; 2. Libidos artÃsticas, que interpreta as concepções de arte dos alunos de pintura,
tais como a relação engajada com a arte e a relação de distanciamento estético; e por último
a Conclusão.
This article presents some reflections based on the doctoral research entitled Amadores da
Arte, which, between 2004 and 2008, investigated the practices of open courses on painting in
the city of São Paulo and interpreted the conceptions and functions of art which preside non
institutionalized and on going distinct artistic practices. The text is structured in the following
items: Introduction; 1. General characterization of artistic practices sustained by open courses
on painting; 2. Artistic libidos, which interprets the conceptions of art by the students of painting,
such as the relation engaged with the art (which refers to make art as expression and as
technique) and the relation of esthetic distance, and Conclusion.
