Objectives: To analyze the prevalence of musculoskeletal injuries in the internship students of chiropractic and chiropractic new graduates. Identify the main lesions generated in the beginning of the clinical practice and the influence of the lesions in the professional activity with occasional job absences. Methods: a standardized questionnaire was sent by electronic message to 132 individuals, divided between students in the last year of internship and graduates in Brazil. A total of 83 responses were received, totaling 63% of quiropratics at the start of professional practice. Results: 61.4 % of the respondents reported to have suffered musculoskeletal injuries in the beginning of clinical practice, and for that 46 (55.4 %) did not have to stop professional activities. The anatomical regions that showed a higher number of involvement in chiropractic were respectively: lumbar spine with (38.6 % ), shoulder (31.3 %) and presenting a similar incidence (31.3 %) wrist, hand and fingers. Conclusion: The chiropractic at the beginning of the clinical practice has a great probability of musculoskeletal injuries. The respondents that reported injuries didn’t have to stop the clinical practice, only changed the type of treatment or the technique used at the time they got injured.
