Este trabalho visa atualizar as atividades diárias ocorridas em virtude da
programação do Primeiro Congresso Nacional do Negro, realizado na cidade
de Porto Alegre no ano de 1958. Por ocasião desse importante
acontecimento, a capital gaúcha recebeu delegações dos estados do Paraná,
Minas Gerais, Rio de Janeiro, Santa Catarina, São Paulo, Distrito Federal e
interior gaúcho, contando com a presença de estudiosos, pesquisadores,
intelectuais brancos e negros e a comunidade. Durante o encontro foram
debatidos três temas centrais: primeiro, a necessidade de alfabetização
frente à situação atual do Brasil; segundo, a situação do homem de cor na
sociedade; e em terceiro, o papel histórico do negro no Brasil e em outros
paÃses. Esses temas foram distribuÃdos em seis dias, do dia 14 de setembro
ao dia 19, do respectivo mês.
This article intends to update the daily activities which ocured in virtue of the
programming of the Blacks First National Congress, that happenned inthe
city of Porto Alegre in the year of 1958. By ocasion of this important event,
the capital of the state received delegations from the states of Paraná, Minas
Gerais, Rio de Janeiro, Santa Catarina, São Paulo, Distrito Federal and the
interior of the state. Counting with the presence of scholars, researchers
withe and black and the comunity. During the enconter three main themes
were debated: first, the necessity of alfabetization in respect to the actual
situation in Brazil, second, the situation of the colored man in society; and in thirde, the historical place of the black people in Brazil and other nations.
These themes were distribuited in six days, from september 14 th to 19 th of
the somemonth.
