Dada a relevância da abordagem dequestões étnico-raciais nas aulas de Educação Física, foram realizadas aulas teóricas e práticas sobre essa temática com estudantesdo sétimo ano do Ensino Fundamental de uma escola privada localizada no município do Rio de Janeiro. Objetivandoproblematizar e debater o tema, aceitandoo desafio de discutir, apontarepolemizar um assunto tão delicado como o racismo,exploramos atividades que fizeram emergir reflexões sobre valorização da africanidade, afrobrasilidade e cultura indígena. É possível considerar que, a partir do discurso dosestudantes ao final das atividades, os assuntosdebatidos geraram reflexões a respeito da importância e urgência da valorização da cultura negra no Brasil, e o reconhecimentodapossibilidade desta valorização emergir de aulas de Educação Física.
Given the relevance of dealing with ethno-racial issues in Physical Education classes, theoretic and practical lessons on the subject were conducted with seventh graders from a private school located in the city of Rio de Janeiro. With the intent to analyze and promote debates on the matter, and accepting the challenge of discussing and disputing points in a topic as delicate as racism, we explore activities that stimulated reflection about valuing Africanity, afro-Brazilianity and indigenous culture. It ispossible to consider that, it is possible to state that from the students’ discourse at the end of the activities, the discussed subjects generated reflections about the importance and urgency of valuing black culture in Brazil and the recognition of the possibility of this valuation surfacing in Physical Education classes.
